God is so good!! We were able to spend Friday night in a wonderful hotel, and the children and I even made it to bed by about 7:30. We had to meet our ride to the airport at 4, but the children were so excited, they were up and ready to go. Our luggage, all ten suitcases, were checked in record time, and we were off.
We had a four hour layover in Miami which gave us a nice amount of time to get some breakfast, meet some new people, and watch the hustle and bustle. Did i ever mention how wonderful my husband is??? He does an awesome job with all the children, and sure makes the stress of luggage, three children, and all that alot of fun. Josh and Zoey both slept most of the way from Miami to Port, which was a blessing.
When we deplaned in Port, I was the normal "hang on to me and don't let go" that i always am at this airport. Crowded terminal with luggage everywhere, and officials way to willing to help. (Whisper... "i help you, you give me something") uh huh. We never give enough in their mind.
Anthony Hostetler was waiting for us, and we were soon on our way. With it being New Years, the streets were empty, and we arrived at Son Light Missions in good time. Anthony and Juli show a real servants heart to many a person coming and /or going here. We were all VERY tired to we went to bed early again.
This morning at 4:45 a horn blew outside the gate, and we hurried to receive our precious precious Karlee Jo. She came to me without any crying, and I wanted to burst into tears. SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL! She cuddled right down in my arms, and 45 min and lots of cuddling later, she settled into sleep again. I could tell she knew something was different.... she was on the sober side, but very accepting, esp of me. (I think Jess has to grow a beard like her foster dad:))
Today we were just here, spending time with each other, doting on Karlee, soaking the sun, and trying to make sure each of the children got their hearts desire fulfilled to feed Karlee Jo with a bottle. They love her to pieces!! And of course, Jess and I are totally in love too. Please continue to pray for GODS TIMING in her coming home as well as us getting as much done as we can during our time here.
The misquitoe are vicious on this fresh from the states skin, and since the computer is on the porch i feel like they are gonna eat me alive. The house here doesn't even have doors in all the doorways.... its open and the screens provide some protection from the insects at least.
I will try to post pics as soon as i can manage to download them.
Praising God for our familys completeness today, and Lord willing for the next three weeks.
Thank you for praying....
Carol Dear, this is your old "Honduran" friend, Linda Weaver. Awhile ago you emailed me to see if I still had the same e-address. I replied to confirm that it WAS correct, but then I never heard from you again. You've got me curious, and I'd love to hear more. If you think there's still a problem with the email, leave a comment on my blog and I'll do whatever I can to get in touch with you. God bless you in Haiti on this very special mission. I'll watch for updates.
