On the mountains, and In the clouds....

We are in Haiti!!! The reality still feels surreal, like a dream I thought was always going to be just that. A dream. But God, who weaves the fabric of lives willing to do whatever He asks, does so with colors and designs that we only dream of. Our family tapestry is exciting, adventurous, and full of constant threads of opportunity to simply trust. Trust. And have faith. With those vibrant threads, God can weave beautiful things, and sometimes, we have to know that in the middle of the weaving, we are only seeing the underside of the tapestry, and only a portion of it. The big picture is what God sees, and its stunningly beautiful. Sometimes I think He gives us a peek of a bit of the topside, and its sooo exciting!!

We left our house on Tuesday evening around 5:30 for our hotel in Washington. We got settled in, and our excited little ones FINALLY fell asleep. 12 hours later we were preparing to get on the shuttle. We attempted to pack a few things from the breakfast bar to eat before we boarded...We were already in the bus when I said to Jess " I left two of those breakfast packages in there!!" No big deal really, until we found out I had left my personal, very important, carry on, sit. Thank you God, for forgotten breakfast!!!

Getting checked in with 500lbs of luggage and three little ones was.... not so bad. The lady at the counter gave us trouble for not having my passport as CAROL PEACHEY when my ticket said CAROL MYER. She wanted to reissue my ticket, and charge us $150.00. She insisted that a copy of our marriage license was not sufficient. It didn't matter that i had traveled to the same destination several months before, on the same passport. I did feel sorry for her when another lady came and put everything through, no problem; she must have felt humiliated. We were thankful to save the $150 tho!!

Our flights went very well, and the children did fantastic. We arrived in Port A Prince and were able to pick up our luggage, go through customs, very quickly!! Only a short wait outside for our ride, and we were soon at SLM. We had to wait until someone could take us to CAM to pick up Karlee... OH MY!!! She is much cuter, and ever so precious in real life!!! Jess kept saying, "she is much cuter than the pictures!!" (We are loving our time with her, and so far she is doing very very well. Last night I didn't get up to feed her until 5.)

We left SLM Wednesday morning.. took Karlee to the doc for some shots, and an exam needed for the adoption. A few more stops for Levi, and got to T-guave around 2. Mose brought our luggage in the truck, Jess, Jean, Zoey, Josh, Abby, and Karlee came on the Husky with three big tanks of diesel. I was on the back with Josh and Abby. It was priceless to see the reactions from people to first see Karlee and Zoey on the front, then do a double take at Josh and Abby on the back. Abby looked like a sack of potatoes as she laid across my lap, sound out and bouncing along all the way. Mose said we would see rain before we got home, and I was dreading sitting under the tarp, with the children and all. Josh and I had a little prayer together back there, that God would hold off the rain. And He did!! Thank you Lord!!
I was discussing with Josh that when he waves and smiles at the people it is being a worker for Jesus. He liked the thought and waved and smiled ... and was quite rewarded with the smiles in return. The memory of that ride will always be with me. It was a very precious time...

The children and Rose were very happy to see us. They even had baked a cake for our supper!! We ate, unpacked a few things, and after a very needed shower, went to bed.

This morning we were awake early... the clouds surrounded us, and still are. We have had rain almost all day. Yesterdays laundry didn't dry either, so we had MOUNDS to do. I think the last load is in the dryer now. THANK GOD FOR THE DRYER!! Two days laundry means 20 sets of clothes, IF. IF, there wasn't any accidents:) Add our four children and three extra adults, and I don't think i have ever helped with so much laundry in a days time. Jess entertained the children almost all morning on the porch, allowing Jean, Rose, YeYe to clean, unpack and put away, and do laundry. We weren't able to connect to Internet earlier, so that is why I haven't let you all know we got here fine and all.
I will try to keep you posted. It would certainly be a blessing if you would let us know you received this by a comment, e-mail, or message. Two specific prayer requests would be:
1. Health. The last two days Abby has had pasty eyes. I am concerned about pink eye since we were in contact with that before we left, although those people were on antibiotics.
2. Pray that the sun would shine and that the children would be able to play outside. It gets hard to entertain 10 little ones in the house/porch all day long.

Thank you for thinking of us, and praying for us. We are loving it, and treasure this time immensely.
